V4 Onboarding flow
To onboard a new BPU, you must possess organisational level permissions to access the system. This can be granted by your health and safety administrator.
Scan the QR code on the side of the BPU OR on the “BPUs” page of your organisation, search for your BPU by matching the serial number.
If the BPU is new, it will automatically start you in the BPU Device Setup. The first step is naming the device. It is recommended to name the device using the registration or asset number of the vehicle in addition to the machine type for easy viewing.
Step 2 provides you with slowly refreshing sensor views to assist in aiming the sensors. See V4 Sensor Positioning . The side by side view helps minimise the overlap. Ideally, the two sensor views are mirror images of each other.
Step 3 and 4 will ask you to draw your alert zones. The image for alert zone configuration is static so it is recommended to have already measured out your zones and placed your boundary cones. If you have not done so, clicking “Back” and “Next” again will refresh the image. Alert zones and critical zones are set independently. The critical zone must always be a subset of the alert zone. You will receive an error message if it is not.
Step 5 asks you to enable your desired objects. It is recommended to start with only people detection until the operator is familiar with the system.
Step 6 is configuration of your alert devices, both the in-cab alert and optional external alerts connected to the output connection are managed here. See V4 In-Cab Alert (ICA) and V4 Output for details on their various settings.
The onboarding is now complete. Test the device and ensure it is performing as expected. Once the system performance has been verified, the last step is to enable the alert trigger.
